Salon’s Design + Art Advisory Council consists of the world’s leading interior designers and art advisors. Salon believes that interior designers and art advisors serve as the essential bridge between galleries, their artists and makers, and clients, and is committed to strengthening its ties to these communities.

Michael Bargo

Michael Bargo

Interior designer Michael Bargo reinterprets the history of decorative arts for contemporary sensibilities. An expert in mid-century French design, his interiors celebrate art, antiques and curiosities of European, African, Asian, American and South American provenance. His work showcases a distinct point of view where Mid-Century Modern, Nouveau, and Art Deco styles play harmoniously in a world of their own.
Always in search of new inspiration, Bargo is an avid traveler, always on the hunt for one-of-a-kind objects, touring vintage fairs, or visiting the studios of emerging artists. Today, Bargo resides between Manhattan and Paris with his cat Ossie, and dog Temo.

Rafael de Cárdenas

Rafael de Cárdenas

Rafael de Cárdenas is a designer and creative director based in New York. Since 2006, he has maintained a multifaceted international practice encompassing residential and commercial interiors, architecture, furniture design, art advisory, and brand development. De Cárdenas and his studio, Rafael de Cárdenas, Ltd., have been the recipients of numerous awards and were the subject of a book-length monograph published by Rizzoli in 2017. His projects for clients including Baccarat, Cartier, Christie's, Kenzo, and Nike—as well as numerous private individuals—span the U.S., Europe, and Asia.​​

Guillaume Coutheillas

Guillaume Coutheillas

Guillaume Coutheillas is a Paris-born, New York City–based interior designer and the Founder and Creative Director of frenchCALIFORNIA, a design studio creating timeless, globally inspired interiors. The firm specializes in luxury residential design, including turnkey renovations, interior furnishings, art curation, and model residence staging, while also taking on select commercial and exhibition projects. Over the past decade, Guillaume has contributed design expertise to projects developed in collaboration with globally acclaimed architecture firms such as Sir David Adjaye, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Richard Meier & Partners, and Foster + Partners.

Christine Gachot

Christine Gachot

Christine Gachot is a principal of GACHOT, a founding member of the Female Design Council, a design ambassador for Neue House, and a board member of the Design Leadership Network. Prior to launching the studio with John, she worked with André Balazs Properties as a partner in the role of Vice President of Design Development. There, she led the design and development of iconic hotels and commercial residential projects including Hotel QT, Sunset Beach, The Standard New York and The Chiltern Firehouse. Prior to ABP, Christine was a Senior Designer at Studio Sofield for 10 years and worked on numerous commercial and residential projects, including the Soho & Tribeca Grand Hotels, and Gucci Worldwide. 

Rabih Hage

Rabih Hage

Rabih Hage is a RIBA chartered architect and interior designer who has a continually evolving creative approach to serve clients. He sees little distinction between his two disciplines, and always designs on a human scale, from the inside out. Taking inspiration from his clients and their personalities, Rabih creates deceptively effortless spaces that are suffused with warmth, a subtle wit, and an exquisite feeling for volume, structure, light and colour. He was included in House & Garden’s 2021 list of the Top 100 Interior Designers & Architects, and has been knighted by the French Republic as a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite for his services to design.

Kim Heirston

Kim Heirston

​Kim Heirston is a private art advisor and the founder of Kim Heirston Art Advisory and Art Unlimited Advisors LLC. For thirty years, she has worked with clients worldwide to develop post-war and contemporary art collections for private residences, corporate headquarters, hotels, and foundations. Heirston established herself as an independent art advisor in 1992. During the advisory’s early years, she placed works by then-emerging artists Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons, and Damien Hirst. The advisory has since expanded its scope from blue-chip contemporary to post-war artists Mark Rothko, Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell, Helen Frankenthaler, as well as such modern masters as Picasso and Brâncuşi.

Julie Hillman

Julie Hillman

Julie Hillman’s approach to designing residential spaces focuses on a thoughtful curation of collectible items that speak to both the client’s interests and her eclectic aesthetic. She cultivates a creative dialogue between the architects, artisans, and craftsmen to ensure that each home tells its own story. She believes there should be harmony in every room in a home, and the best way to each this ia to create a subtle yet unepected mix of decorative and functional arts. Julie’s goal is to help each home possess a distinctive, timeless, and unique style that is not based on specific criteria, but on the collaborative vision of designer and client.

Young Huh

Young Huh

A Detroit native, Young attended the Cranbrook School, received a degree in English from Smith College and a law degree from Fordham University. While pursuing further education and an internship in interior design, Young discovered her true calling and founded Young Huh Interior Design in 2007. Resetting the design narrative for each project, YHID’s work is about finding harmony and dynamism through the application of classic and modern design principles. For the last five years Young has been included on Elle Decor’s prestigious A-List and is among top talent on Architectural Digest's AD100 2023, 2024, and 2025 lists.

David Kleinberg

David Kleinberg

David Kleinberg is one of the most respected and celebrated names in interior design. Over a 35-year career with projects reaching around the world, Kleinberg has created a body of work that is wide ranging

in style yet always modern in sensibility. Whether boldly inspired or carefully nuanced,

Kleinberg’s interiors are above all clean-lined, sophisticated and highly attuned to each client’s lifestyle. In 1997, Kleinberg started his firm, David Kleinberg Design Associates, which today employs twenty. Kleinberg is a member of the Interior Design Magazine Hall of Fame and has been honored with the Albert Hadley Lifetime Achievement Award by the New York School of Interior Design.

Andre Mellone

Andre Mellone

Andre Mellone is a Brazilian interior designer based in New York. An architect by training, he is a 25-year veteran of the city’s design community. Andre worked for Robert A. M. Stern, Mark Hampton, Greg Jordan, Ferguson&Shamamian, and Sawyer/Berson prior to establishing Studio Mellone in 2012. The studio’s work primarily focuses on the interior design of private residences, while developing a complementary portfolio of retail, commercial and product design projects. Studio Mellone has also helmed the renovation and decoration of the lobbies at 50 and 45 Rockefeller Plaza located in New York’s iconic Rockefeller center. Honors include Architectural Digest’s AD100, Elle Decor’s A-List, and Wallpaper* 400.

Alfredo Paredes

Alfredo Paredes is a renowned designer and creative director at the helm of Alfredo Paredes Studio, with offices in Manhattan and Miami. Paredes’ studio executes residential, hospitality and retail interiors for the world’s most discerning clientele, and produces eponymous collections of furniture, textiles and rugs. Harnessing design to convey an entire world within a single project, Paredes infuses his own diverse heritage to create an authentically American outlook and bring cinematic experiences to life for clients in search of the extraordinary. His recent work includes residential projects in Colorado, Manhattan and Long Island; restaurants in Brooklyn and Houston; and retail in the Hamptons.

Brigette Romanek

Brigette Romanek

Brigette Romanek is an award-winning interior designer based in Los Angeles. She founded Romanek Design Studio in 2018, but her love for design began long before that. Brigette spent years traveling, curating, reading, and immersing herself in the beauty of interiors and nature. These experiences inspired her to teach herself design, blending aesthetics with practicality to create spaces that are both beautiful and livable. In October 2023, she shared her first book, Livable Luxe, which offers a peek into her design world with a foreword by Gwyneth Paltrow.​ Consistently recognized on Architectural Digest’s AD100 list and 1stDibs 50 lists, Brigette was also named an Elle Decor Titan in 2024.​

Her work extends to crafting bespoke residential interiors, delivering striking and unique designs for clients who appreciate the fusion of collectible design and exquisite architecture. Olivia aims to provide younger families and collectors with beautiful, meaningful furnishings and objects. Olivia’s designs are meant to live on, absorbing and reflecting the stories of the spaces and lives they adorn.​​​​​​

Sara Story

Sara Story

Since founding her eponymous design firm, Sara Story has forged a reputation for imparting to all of her projects an ineffable style she can truly call her own. Drawing inspiration from extensive travel and an active interest in contemporary art and fashion, Sara wields a keen eye to exact her aesthetic vision. The studio continues to work on residential and commercial projects worldwide and was named to Architectural Digest’s AD100 list in 2024 and 2025. Sara earned a B.F.A. from the University of San Diego and holds a degree in Interior Architecture from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her first monograph, The Art of Home, was published by Rizzoli in 2023.

Giancarlo Valle

Giancarlo Valle

Studio Valle de Valle is an award-winning international design practice dedicated to creating spaces that are playful, studied, and unexpected. The studio’s holistic approach encompasses architecture, interiors, and the decorative arts, from thoughtful refinement to total reimagination. In 2024, Giancarlo and Jane opened Casa Valle, an immersive design gallery in Tribeca. The space serves as an extension of their home and design practice, bringing together the Giancarlo Valle furniture and lighting collection with historic designs in one holistic environment. Giancarlo is an architect and grew up between San Francisco, Chicago, Caracas, and Guatemala City, and received his Masters of Architecture from Princeton University.

Christopher Wolf

Christopher Wolf

Christopher Wolf is an independent advisor and dealer based in New York City. With 20 years of experience within the art world in the US and internationally, he has helmed his advisory, Amor Fati Art, since 2012. With the core of the consultancy focused on building, maintaining, and shaping the collections of individuals within the post-war to contemporary realm, Amor Fati Art has also developed a strong complementary business that involves commercial and interior design projects in both the US and Europe. With clients in New York, Los Angeles, London, Miami, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore, Amor Fati Art has a hand in most major art markets throughout the world.

Charles Zana

Charles Zana

For the last thirty years, from Paris to London via New York, Miami and Monaco, Charles Zana has provided finesse and expertise to the world’s most beautiful interiors. In three decades, Zana, who studied architecture at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, has defined his unique style sought by his clients who seek the exclusive vision of this art lover, creatively passionate about design. Ultimately, he conveys his sensibility for both art and design by extracting from their essence. Charles Zana transmits this passion for art and design, so integral to his identity, not only through his own team at Charles Zana architecture and project collaborators, but also through his teaching work at the Penninghen Architecture and Design School in Paris. 

Kelly Behun

Kelly Behun

Described by The New York Times as “an interior designer with the eye of a gallerist,” Kelly Behun is known for creating artful, deeply personal interiors that blend design, architecture, and contemporary art. Her work reflects a distinctive curatorial sensibility, balancing refinement with striking, unexpected gestures. As founder and creative director of her eponymous studio, Behun leads a multidisciplinary team on a wide variety of residential projects in the U.S. and abroad. Her approach is fully bespoke, with a strong emphasis on narrative, craftsmanship, and the integration of collectible design, and she collaborates regularly with artists and artisans to produce custom furnishings and limited-edition pieces. 

Adam Charlap Hyman

Adam Charlap Hyman

Adam Charlap Hyman is the cofounder of Charlap Hyman & Herrero, an architecture and design practice out of New York and Los Angeles, working across an ever-widening array of projects from set design to residential interiors, freestanding buildings to store and exhibition design. Adam brings his love of history, art, and design to all his projects, which have recently been seen on the covers of Architectural Digest and Elle Decor, among others.

Oliver Furth

Oliver Furth

A fourth-generation Los-Angeles native, Interior Designer Oliver M. Furth is a fixture in his city’s design and cultural communities. Before opening his eponymous studio in 2005, Furth trained under some of the most celebrated firms in the business. He attended architecture school and worked at Christie's Auction house in their Decorative Arts department. Furth is renowned for his knowledge and expertise in both historical decorative arts, and contemporary collectible design. In addition to his design practice, Furth consults for The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), and is Chair Emeritus of their Decorative Arts and Design Council. ​​​​​​​​

John Gachot

John Gachot

John Gachot, founder and principal of GACHOT, has spent nearly three decades working as an architect and designer in New York, leading the design and project development of various high-end residential, retail, commercial, and restaurant spaces. His experience spans branding and conceptual design to architectural fruition. Notable clients include Marc Jacobs, for whom he designed a private New York residence, along with Bottega Veneta, Baker Furniture, Boucheron and Gucci stores, in addition to numerous residential projects in Aspen, Seattle, Chicago, and the Caribbean. Prior to GACHOT, John worked in design leadership roles at several prominent ateliers including Studio Sofield and Thad Hayes Inc. 

Virginia Harper

Virginia Harper

Virginia Italia Harper is a New York–based designer whose work spans furniture, collectible objects, and large-scale installations. Through her studio, Virginia Harper Design, she develops high-end concepts that merge product and spatial design with an emphasis on craftsmanship, storytelling, and materiality. Harper has held senior design roles at Estée Lauder, Guerlain (LVMH), and Eve Lom, collaborating with global teams to shape brand environments and immersive consumer experiences. She has developed furniture for Poltrona Frau, Giorgetti, and other European brands, bridging her Italian and New York heritage through a refined, cross-disciplinary approach.

Shawn Henderson

Shawn Henderson

Shawn Henderson has been a fixture on the international design scene for more than two decades. His work is synonymous with unpretentious luxury, sophistication, and beauty. From his studio in New York City, he has spearheaded an astonishing variety of residential and hospitality projects, each one uniquely responsive to the exigencies of site, context, and the individual spirit of his clients. His interiors privilege connoisseurship as well as comfort, drawing inspiration from the past to conjure environments firmly rooted in the present, deftly attuned to the rituals of contemporary life. Among his many accolades, Henderson has been named to Architectural Digest’s prestigious AD100 and the Elle Decor A-List.

Founded by Nicole Hollis in 2002, NICOLEHOLLIS is a San Francisco based interior design studio working across the United States and Europe. The studio designs environments that reflect how people live, feel, and gather. Each project is grounded in research into site, culture, and architectural precedent, and delivered with a deep respect for material integrity and place. A collective of interior designers, interior architects, and furniture designers, the team draws from fine art, fashion, and nature, and works collaboratively with architects, builders, artists, and artisans. NICOLEHOLLIS has been consistently ranked in Architectural Digest’s AD100, Elle Decor’s A-List, 1stDibs 50, and Interior Design’s Top 100 Giants. 

John Ike

John Ike

John Ike has been practicing architecture and design for more than four decades. John first worked for Robert A.M. Stern, under whom he had studied for his Master of Architecture degree at Columbia University. He later co-founded Ike Kligerman Barkley in 1989 and remained with the firm until its closure in 2022. During his time there, he published two books. The firm received numerous awards ranging from the AIA New York Chapter Award, the DDB Stars of Design Award, the ICAA Julia Morgan Award, and the ICAA Stanford White Award, as well as being in the AD100 and Elle Decor A-List. 

 

Clive Lonstein

Clive Lonstein

Clive Lonstein’s design studio is known for its innovative approach to rich minimalist interiors and reductive architecture. Based in Manhattan, the studio draws inspiration from an extensive library of materials and influences from history, travel, art, fashion, and nature. With a Master of Architecture with distinction from Harvard University, Lonstein expertly blends form, color, and materials to create distinctive architectural and interior spaces. Before founding his firm, he served as Design Director for Studio Sofield, managing high-end projects for clients such as Gucci and YSL, and was Vice President at Tiffany & Co., overseeing their global architecture and design studio.

Bryan O'Sullivan

Bryan O'Sullivan

Bryan O’Sullivan Studio was founded in 2013 and today has teams established in both central London and New York City. The studio works with clients globally to produce contemporary, liveable design informed by an elegant and eclectic European point of view. Projects span residential, hospitality, restaurants, bars, and maritime. Bryan O’Sullivan finds exquisite details and inspiration everywhere he goes, whether on an intrepid trip or closer to home, absorbing the nuances and details that make everyday living exceptional while topping up his encyclopaedic knowledge of design and interior architecture.​​​​​​ 

Suchi Reddy

Suchi Reddy

Suchi Reddy founded Reddymade in 2002 with an approach to design that privileges the emotional quality of human engagement with space. Guided by the mantra “form follows feeling,” Reddy's work is informed by her research at the intersection of neuroscience and the arts. Working toward a larger idea of design justice, she is dedicated to expanding our notions of empathy, equity, and agency—where the importance of design is recognized as an asset for the benefit of all, not just for some. Reddy currently teaches at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.​​​​​​

Allan Schwartzman

Allan Schwartzman

For more than 30 years, Allan Schwartzman has provided short- and long-term bespoke advice to influential and sophisticated collectors the world over, guiding them in the formation of their holdings in modern, post-war and contemporary art. Known equally as a tastemaker in contemporary art and an authority on the art market, and widely respected as an independent curator, Allan's advisory projects include nascent and mature private collections. Allan was a founding staff member and curator of the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. He serves on the Board of Artists Space, one of New York's primary alternative venues for exhibiting artists' work.​

 

Robert Stilin

Robert Stilin

Robert Stilin is known for effortlessly combining crisp, clean architecture with custom upholstery, antique and vintage furniture and modern and contemporary art to create casually elegant homes that are warm, comfortable and very livable. With over 25 years of experience running his own design firm, the New York and Hamptons based designer has built a reputation as a highly versatile interior designer whose classically modern work is custom tailored to the needs of each client and project. Current projects include an oceanfront home in Palm Beach, a farmhouse in Connecticut, an executive office in Seattle and a contemporary estate in Bel Air.​

Brad Thornton

Brad Thornton

Brad Thornton is the founder of Thornton Projects, a New York City–based interiors firm known for crafting spaces that are warm, elevated, and richly layered. In 2025, House Beautiful named the studio to its Next Wave, spotlighting the country’s most promising emerging designers.

The firm works across high-end residential, commercial, and creative projects, with clients including Bonhams, Tommy Hilfiger, and Compass. Before launching the firm, Brad honed his eye at 1stDibs, collaborating with many of the most celebrated names in design. His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Vogue, The New York TimesGalerie, Introspective, and more.

Jane Keltner de Valle

Jane Keltner de Valle

Studio Valle de Valle is an award-winning international design practice dedicated to creating spaces that are playful, studied, and unexpected. The studio’s holistic approach encompasses architecture, interiors, and the decorative arts, from thoughtful refinement to total reimagination. In 2024, Giancarlo and Jane opened Casa Valle, an immersive design gallery in Tribeca. The space serves as an extension of their home and design practice, bringing together the Giancarlo Valle furniture and lighting collection with historic designs in one holistic environment. Jane is a veteran editor and former style director at Architectural Digest. She grew up in NYC and received her degree from Barnard College, Columbia University.

Pierre Yovanovitch

Pierre Yovanovitch

Pierre Yovanovitch founded his eponymous design agency in 2001 after a career as a menswear designer for Pierre Cardin led him to follow his creative passions into interior architecture and design. His global portfolio includes residential, scenography, hospitality, and commercial projects. In May 2021, Yovanovitch launched Pierre Yovanovitch Mobilier, a furniture brand that runs in parallel to his interior architecture practice. The brand reflects his iconic made-to-measure approach, emphasizing superior craftsmanship, materiality, and sustainable sourcing to create unique luxury furniture and lighting. With offices and galleries in Paris and New York, Pierre Yovanovitch leads a team of over 120 employees.
